Narrative

Narrative is writing that tells a story can be imaginary or based on real incident.

* Communicative purpose
To entertain the reader

* Types of a Narrative Text
Short stories ( General, Adventurous, Humorous, Imaginary, Fantasy), Folktales, Legend, Fable, Myth

* The structure of a Narrative text
A narrative text can have as many paragraphs as you want. However, It has mainly 3 parts,which are the Orientation,sequence of events/complications and the resolution.

1. Orientation
Present the settings of your story and introduce the characters involved.

2. Complication
The story continues here, which is the body. Usually, There will be an event, or sequence of events/complications that lead the characters into a complication ( some form of conflict that disrupts the normal events). Tension stars to build up to climax and this draws anticipation in the reader.

3.Resolution
The story starts to get resolved and everything usually comes to a happy end. Sometimes, there may be a suprising twist of events that the reader hardly expect, while at other times, The resolution is left for the reader to decide.
